Dubai Population Statistics and it's Implication for Visa Demand

Dubai's population is projected to grow from 3.9 million in 2025 to 7.4 million by 2040, driven by the D33 Economic Agenda. This expansion creates significant demand for residency visas essential for healthcare, banking, housing, and employment.

Dubai’s population has  grown from 1.5 million in 2008 to 3.9 million in 2025, a 160% increase. The expected population growth is expected to rise to 5 million by 2030 and 7.4 million by 2040 this is another predicted rise in population by a further 50 % on the current number now in 2025

 = MORE RESIDENTIAL VISAS 


Dubai has huge plans to ensure this will happen.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the Dubai Economic Agenda “D33” with the ambitious goals of doubling the size of Dubai’s economy over the next decade, and reinforce its position amongst the top 3 global cities, this also includes nearly doubling its population as well


 = MORE RESIDENTIAL VISAS

The key goals for UAE D33 Economic Agenda  


  • Become a Top 5 global logistics hub, across connectivity, services, and operations

  • Scale manufacturing value adds and exports by focusing on advanced modes of production

  • Become a Top 4 global financial hub and a preferred capital market in MEASA

  • Become a Top 3 global destination for visitors across leisure, business, and specialized services


Where does that leave the Visa/Relocation  space here in Dubai ?


Some obvious yet very key facts you need to know about moving to Dubai 

If you want to live, work, or run a business in Dubai, a visa is essential.

 No Visa =

  •   No access to healthcare, banking, school, or housing contracts

  •   Can't rent long-term apartments or register utilities

  •   Can’t legally work or earn income

Tourist visas can last from anything from 30 to 90 days which are ideal for visits/exploring Dubai and doing a “reccy” if you are thinking of moving here however you CANNOT work/earn income on these visas. 


Residency Visas are Required if you want to live in Dubai longer term

  • Usually sponsorship methods are the following :

    • An employer (work visa)

    • A free zone/company (like a business or freelance license)

    • A family member (for spouses, children)

    • Yourself, if you buy property or set up a business/fixed bank deposit
